YEAR 5
As part of our RE curriculum we have been learning about
prayer and worship within differing faiths. We have been
very fortunate in that several of the boys parents gave up
there time to come and speak to them about their own relig-
ions. These were fantastically presented, informative and
gave a valuable personal perspective to the faith. Huge
thanks to Mr. Singh, Mrs. Hindle and Mrs. Khan for their time
and effort.
Year 5 enjoyed a visit from the Mad Science team to
undertake work on the topic of Sound. Amongst the many
activities on offer, the boys learnt how sound waves are
produced, travel and are affected by differing media. Great
fun was had during the hands on practical
workshops with boys commenting on how much they had
learnt from the experience.
Year 5 produced a fabulous effort to raise money for the Haiyan
Typhoon appeal which affected Indonesia last month with a cake
sale. Boys showed off some excellent baking skills to produce
buns, cakes, brownies and a whole host of other treats to sell in
school. The sale was very well supported by all boys at
Marlborough Road and raised a fantastic £266.20. Well done
boys!
