YEAR 3
Year 3 have had a great Autumn term with many highlights. One of
these was of course, Roman Chester. We had a fine dry day this
year and so were able to march with the centurion into the
amphitheatre where the boys were drilled in different formations
including the famous ‘tortoise’.
Later they were able to dress as slaves and experience working in
the kitchens, and as archaeologists digging up artefacts and
examining these.
The museum at Chester and the Amphitheatre have been updated
and improved, making our trip this year the best yet!
In the first half term we learn about healthy eating and
looking after our teeth. Dr Hodgson once again visited
us to talk about diet and what to look out for in the
ingredients of snacks and other foods. We also took
disclosing tablets to examine our teeth and brush away
plaque. We had great fun seeing our teeth and tongues
go purple and then nice and white again.
3R learn about ‘hidden’ sugars in foods. Max and Hugh practise brushing
vigorously .
Daniyal studies his teeth
in a mirror to see where
there is any plaque.
