Early Years: Pre School and Reception
Willow Dome
Bell Field
Following Pre-School, The Reception boys
worked in classes to complete the Willow
structure. The boys helped to weave the
willow saplings to make the dome shape
and tunnel. They then were shown how to
tie a knot using a piece of string.
Using this knowledge the boys worked as a
team to tie the willow weaves together to
help train the branches to make a dome
shape. We learnt a lot and can’t wait to
start using our new Willow Dome.

Forest Schooling came to APS! The Pre-
School boys worked in two groups to
make the holes in the ground to plant the
Willow. They checked the size of the
dome by sitting inside to make sure that
it was big enough and marked out the
tunnel entrance. They then began to
create the structure by planting the first
branches. It was such a lovely morning.
